Well posting twice in a month! That's somewhat better:)
There are a lot of people in this world. I mean seriously think about it 7 billion alive right now. And each of us is 1 out of 7 billion. That is pretty unique. Out of those 7 billion you may meet lets say roughly 1,000 of them throughout your life, and be friends with maybe, and I mean maybe 100...each of us is going through something, whether good or bad, small or big ( I promise I'm getting to a point)
We each have these struggles, that 90% of a huge iceberg we call our life, that no one is really privileged to see. So how then can we understand one another better, be kinder to one another, and don't use those harsh judgements that we all seem to fall back on in order for us to make ourselves feel somewhat better.
I've realized that we as a society are too focused on life and treating it as a constant "status update" or Instagram post that we forget what it is like to pick up the phone and call that person you've been thinking about (shocking I know, calling can be very scary these days, totally kidding, pick up that dang phone)
Being a friend is much more than liking each others post on all forms of social media, and it is surly not a competition. It's making time for that person no matter how hard that may be. It's being happy for them when their happy about things. It's about actually doing something. So many times I feel that we say "oh we're friends on Facebook" or "I follow them on Instagram" I know what's going on in their lives. Reality check people. NO. YOU. DO. NOT. Each of us is struggling with some sort of thing. And sometimes we need a friend to call us, and say "hey I've been thinking about you are you okay?" It doesn't have to be grand, it doesn't have to be large, but people need something. I need something. I've been blessed with those that do this from time to time and know me well enough to say "Kayla I know you're not okay, what's going on?" So how can you be a better friend? Post a comment so I can get ideas to, I'm all ears here!
